CHEMICAL PROCESSING
With our wide range of corrosion-resistant alloys and expertise in material performance, we help our customers design and build reliable systems that ensure safety and efficiency in chemical processes. From reaction vessels to pipelines, our metals are essential to the integrity and longevity of critical infrastructure.

Chemical processing environments often involve exposure to highly corrosive substances, making material selection a critical consideration. P&P Bornmore Metals specialises in supplying metals such as duplex stainless steel, super duplex stainless steel and nickel alloys that provide exceptional resistance to chemical attack.

For example, we supplied duplex stainless steel for the fabrication of storage tanks used to hold caustic and acidic substances. The superior corrosion resistance of duplex stainless steel ensured the tanks could withstand prolonged exposure to these aggressive chemicals, minimizing maintenance requirements and extending their operational life.
In another case, we provided nickel alloy bars for a heat exchanger manufacturer. Nickel alloys were chosen for their ability to maintain strength and resist corrosion in high-temperature environments where chemical reactions generate intense heat and aggressive by-products.

Ensuring Safety in Chemical Processing Equipment
The safety and reliability of chemical processing equipment are paramount. P&P Bornmore Metals has worked with fabricators to supply stainless steel sheets for producing reactors, distillation columns and scrubbers. For example, we partnered with a company designing a chemical reactor for producing polymers. Our high-quality stainless steel ensured the reactor maintained its structural integrity under high pressures and temperatures, while also resisting corrosion from the reactants used in the process.

We also supplied aluminium sheets for a project involving chemical transport containers. The lightweight nature of aluminium helped reduce overall transportation costs, while its corrosion-resistant properties provided reliable performance during transit.

Supporting Piping and Flow Systems
Piping systems in chemical processing facilities must withstand extreme pressures and corrosive chemicals without compromising flow efficiency or safety. P&P Bornmore Metals has supplied super duplex bars for fabricating custom pipe fittings and connectors. These materials were selected for their excellent mechanical properties and enhanced resistance to stress corrosion cracking, ensuring the long-term reliability of critical piping systems.

One notable project involved providing phosphor bronze bars for pump components used in transferring highly abrasive chemical solutions. The material’s excellent wear resistance and anti-corrosion properties ensured the pumps could handle demanding operational cycles with minimal downtime.

The chemical processing industry operates under strict safety and performance regulations, and materials must comply with specific certifications and standards. At P&P Bornmore Metals, we provide metals that meet these rigorous requirements, ensuring our customers can trust the materials they receive for their applications. Our quality control processes and thorough documentation guarantee compliance with industry standards, making us a dependable partner for the chemical sector.

Chemical processing facilities often need quick access to high-quality materials to meet production demands or carry out urgent repairs. P&P Bornmore Metals maintains an extensive inventory of metal bars and sheets, ensuring our customers receive prompt deliveries. This capability allows us to support customers during planned upgrades, as well as emergency maintenance scenarios where downtime must be minimised.
